We recently upgraded our Cisco Call Center to the 11.5 version and as part of that, the old Cisco Historical Reporting Tool for UCCX is no longer supported. I was trying to remove it from a few Windows 7 computers and kept getting the same error message. “Error Opening installation log file. Verify that the specified location exists and is writable.” I tried the typical google search, but couldn’t find a good solution to fix this one. I was logged in as administrator on the computer, but that made no difference.
I started by digging around in the event logs to see exactly what happened. I found this error.
Product: Cisco Unified CCX Historical Reports — Error 1722.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action caUninstallDBDriverMsiexec, location: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\, command: msiexec /x”{B13076C9-E2BD-4369-BAFE-B46D32037176}” /qb! /L*v C:\hrcdbdriveruninst.log
The important piece was the msiexec uninstall message. I opened an administrator level command prompt and pasted in the above command. This ran the uninstall for the IBM Informix Drivers. These are used by the Cisco reporting system. That uninstall was successful. After this completed, I was able to successfully uninstall the Historical Reporting from the add/remove programs.
Hope this helps someone else.
